Kasos is located to the east of Crete and is a small island which remains largely untouched by tourism. At first glance, the rough and rocky landscape makes it appear somewhat savage but visitors are compensated when they encounter the very friendly and welcoming locals and it is surely a place worth visiting. It offers an uncultivated beauty consisting of small coves and bays with clear blue-green waters and local guides offer tours along the eastern coast of the island to a number of beautiful secluded beaches.
Kasos is also known for its excellent cheeses and dairy products which are exported to almost everywhere in Greece.
It is quite far away, some 22 hours by boat from Athens Piraeus Port, therefore, visitors mainly chose to fly to Crete and take the boat from there, a journey of approximately 3 hours, or also fly to the islands of Rhodes and Karpathos and take boats from there.
