Kefalonia is the biggest island of the Ionian Sea and most famous for its breathtaking and endless white sandy beaches with cobalt blue and emerald green waters, some of which are only reachable by foot or by driving down on narrow twisting roads. A favorite spot is the picturesque port of Fiskardo with its popular fish restaurants and shops, well visited by yacht owners. Activities offered include all sorts of water sports, such as sea kayaking and scuba diving, available on many large organized beaches and visitors can explore the more secluded beaches by regular boat excursions. You will see many sandy coves and rugged landscapes but it is also a very green island. The Corgialenos Historical and Cultural Museum is considered one of the finest in Greece.
