Paxos

Paxos is surely the least commercial of the Ionian islands and truly magnificent. It is mostly loved by its visitors for the beautiful scenery, which seems almost unreal, the crystal clear aquamarine waters and the notable hospitality of the local people.

It is a small island that can easily be explored by foot, bike or car and there is a feeling of relaxation and tranquility throughout. Τhe main town of Paxos is rather small with Venetian architecture and a maze of side streets leading to the main square on the seafront, which hosts many pretty cafes, bars and restaurants which offer a high standard local cuisine. Sea taxis are available for trips to the nearby islands of Anti-Paxos and Mongonissi. Paxos is served by Corfu. Visitors usually fly from Athens to Corfu and then travel by sea or hydroplane to reach the island. Flying Dolphins take about 1 hour from Corfu. Sea Taxis can also be chartered privately. If you are traveling to Corfu or Paxos by car, there are a number of ferry companies that operate from Italy and Igoumenitsa.
