Santorini

The hemispherical island of Santorini consists of a group of 5 islands and is located on the southernmost part of the Cyclades. It is said that Jaques Cousteau was actually searching for the lost city of Atlantis here. The entire area is still an active volcano with its crater in the sea and one can observe various significant geological structures.

It is a rather “romantic” destination, preferred by lovers and couples who plan their wedding ceremonies here, however, the spectacular view from Caldera and the famous sunset attracts many visitors from all over the world and the island is an extremely popular destination all year through.

Main attractions are the villages located on the cliffs high above. You can find lively areas, as well as quiet ones, surrounded by vineyards, beautiful white houses and, most importantly, the breathtaking view of the Aegean. Visitors also enjoy the local cuisine, purchase the famous traditional products and have the opportunity to taste the distinctive local wines.

The beaches are surrounded by deep blue waters and have white, red and black sand or volcanic pebbles and you come across interesting rock formations and lunar landscapes.  It is definitely an unusual place, worth visiting.

Ferry boats depart daily from Athens Piraeus Port and the journey is approximately 8 hours, but you may also travel by plane.
